About Databases
You may hear your teachers and librarians talk about using
databases for research.
What are databases?
• Databases are sets of electronic resources available through the library.
• They often contain articles from journals, magazines, and newspapers.
But they may also contain other types of information such as primary sources, videos, e-books, and practice tests.
Why do I need them when I have the Internet?
• Library databases give you access to many reliable materials--including SCHOLARLY articles--that you can't find (or find for free) with a Google search.
