Blackward is a book about books and zines and comics and friendship. Lika, Amor, Tony, and Lala are a joy to spend time with, and I was happy they have the guidance of Marcus, the local bookstore owner. I love Lindell's colors, expressions, and different styles.

Funny! Gory! Trans! Boys Weekend made me cheer for the trans artist's assistant hero and groan about masculinity and capitalism. It reminded me of another favorite, BTTM FDRS.

Newly-out trans artist's assistant Sammie is invited to an old friend's bachelor weekend in El Campo, a hedonistic wonderland of a city floating in the Atlantic Ocean's international waters-think Las Vegas with even fewer rules. Though they have not identified as a man for over a year, Sammie's old friends haven't quite gotten the message-as evidenced by their former best friend Adam asking them to be his "best man." Arriving at the swanky hotel, Sammie immediately questions their decision to come. Legendborn (and Bloodmarked) are fun and exciting imaginings of King Arthur's legacy in the present day. I laughed and cheered for Bree as she learned to control her own power. It reminded me of a cross between the Girls of Paper and Fire series and the Bitter Root comics.
